I know that it’s been over a year since I last posted something. I just haven’t felt that I had a lot to share.
I’ve gone through a lot of changes, in the last 14 months. I’ve converted to Christianity. I’ve been having serious memory problems, which prevent me from following a crochet or knitting pattern. My husband has had several brain surgeries and procedures; he’s now fine, thanks be to God.
I recently discovered a different craft – diamond painting. I don’t need to follow a pattern, so my memory doesn’t matter. But, it’s still a creative endeavor and it’s still producing something that I love and can decorate my home and office with. It’s also less expensive than yarn – especially for the number of hours that I will spend on a project.
I will try to remember to share my projects, here.
I may still crochet and/or knit simple things – like granny square projects or simple knit things. I recently tried to knit a lacy argyle cowl. But, even though the pattern was not difficult, I still struggled with remembering where I was, within the row. My brother-in-law suggested that I write each instruction down in a flip book and flip the page when I complete that step. I might try to do that – but man, that seems like a lot of fuss.
Here are a few of the diamond paintings I’ve finished:
I have a pretty big one that I’m working on right now. I have two more sitting here waiting to be started. And I have three more on the way. The butterfly one, above, took me a little over 60 hours to finish. The image size is 17.5″ x 17.5″.
So, if you’re here for the yarny fun, I’m afraid that you are in for a bit of a disappointment. At least for a little while. I do intend to pick up the crochet hook again, when I find that I need something and can find a more simple pattern to work on.
I hope this post finds you well.
